About the Pilot

* Christian Kappler harbored a love of aviation at an early age. Growing up in southern California, he spent his free time with his dad at airports watching airplanes take-off and land while dreaming of one day becoming a pilot. This dream was realized with his first solo flight at the age of 16. Since that first flight over twenty years ago he has accumulated thousands of hours in the air and is commercially rated in both airplanes and helicopters.

* From crop-dusting in the central valley of California to helicopter firefighting in the mountains of Montana, Chris has always felt at home in the sky. In addition to flying his beautifully restored World War II Stearman biplane, Chris is employed full-time flying an emergency medical helicopter out of Beckley, West Virginia.
